This week I was genuinely surprised to see that I knew so little about Native Americans and the facts that I did know were completely incorrect. After this single week, I have more respect for Natives than I ever did for my entire 17 years of existence. I never took the time to contemplate and think about what Native Americans had gone through in the past and even present today. With the blood labeling that Natives have to do today, proves that they are still being labeled. There are so many misconceptions for Native Americans, such as associating them as being alcoholics.  When it comes to the debate on Friday, I still believe that researchers should be more respectful and ask for permission from Native Americans to use blood samples for research. Native Americans are justified in their stance to reject and be cautious when researchers ask to use blood samples, however although it will most likely be difficult, I feel that they should try to be more open and realize that the pres
